Letter to Students & Families - March 27th
Dear Bulldog Students and Families,
We hope this letter finds you well. The past 12 days have been a tremendously trying time for everyone. Please know that our teachers and staff are missing students. Just the other day, some of our para-educators commented on how much they enjoyed seeing students while handing out Grab n’ Go meals. We really do miss student interactions.
Over the years, Montesano School District has prided itself on the personal relationships, individual attention, and personalized instruction we provide our students. However, in our current situation we have had to rethink, and for many of us, learn a new delivery method with our students that is not face-to-face. Please be patient with us, and please know we are doing our best to keep this a stress-free time in all of our lives.
In the coming days, we are planning to use Skyward, Zoom, and Google classroom to provide more opportunities for students to stay in the habit of learning. Please check Skyward often for messages from teachers regarding important communication and opportunities for growth.
Here are a few reminders as we move forward:
The district posted instructional resources on the website for students and families, and we will continue to add to these resources as we move along.
Technology Request: If you have a need for technology, please email agreene@monteschools.org or apugh@monteschools.org, and we will do our best to help you.
Several teachers have also posted enrichment activities and resources specific to their content on Google Classroom.
A few points to know about the resources and teacher driven activities:
These are optional activities meant to serve, review, and enrich.
These activities are not required and will not be graded.
Check back often as more activities may be added.
Scheduling for next year:
Students, please log in to your student skyward schedule to choose classes for next school year. Some of you have already completed this process.
7th graders we will assume you will continue either in band or choir if you are currently enrolled in those courses. If you and your parents have decided to not participate in band and or choir for next year please send Tami Herzog or Pat Pace an email to have them enroll you in the electives.
8th graders, please log in and select your two elective courses, and if you would like PE or Weights.
9-11th graders, verify all your selections are requested.
Again, if you have questions regarding courses for next year. Please email Tami Herzog or Pat Pace in the counseling center.
Food Service:
Even with the mandated stay at home order we are continuing our breakfast and lunch Grab n’ Go services at the three schools from 9:00-11:00AM through the closure. We are also delivering to designated sites.
Thank you for continuing to follow the guidelines set forth by Governor Inslee and the Health Department. Stay Strong and Healthy Bulldogs!!!!
Hope to see all of you soon,
Alec Pugh, Principal
Anne Greene, Assistant Principal
