The Drama Club will be presenting a production of Beauty and the Beast! This Friday, May 26 and Saturday, May 27, showtimes are at 7:00PM, with a matinee on Sunday, May 28, at 2:00PM in the Commons. Tickets are available at the door and are $5. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time and it is anticipated that there will be snacks available by donation.

Next week, junior high students will be taking the spring diagnostic test for i-Ready in both math and ELA. This is a district assessment administered on the computer and takes an hour to complete on average. The test is one of many assessments we use to measure student growth in the area of mathematics and reading. We will send home test results with students the following week to share with guardians/parents.

On Tuesday, May 9, the Seniors will be visiting Beacon & Simpson schools for the “Senior Walk” in their caps and gowns, then returning for the class picture in front of the school.
Seniors need to be in the Commons in their caps and gowns at 9:15AM.
The Class of 2023 Senior panoramic picture will be at 10:30AM.
As is Montesano High School tradition, we do not allow decorating the caps or gowns, with the exception of wearing significant tribal or cultural regalia. Please make sure you have removed your gown from the packaging and have it hanging to remove the wrinkles.

This spring, students in grades 7, 8 and 10 will take the Smarter Balanced or the Washington Access to Instruction and Measurement (WA-AIM) tests in math and English language arts. Students in grades 8 and 11 will also take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) or the WA-AIM science assessment.
Running Start Juniors:
This spring 11th grade Running Start students are required by the state to take the Smarter Balanced test the Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS). The spring test is a federal accountability requirement. Consequently, each student must attempt the state test at least one time.

Washington Business Week will be held from March 13 – March 17 for all junior students (including Running Start Students*).
For one full and exciting week, students and some faculty members will be engaged in a non-traditional discovery learning experience where small “companies” of students will operate their own business, solving the problems small businesses encounter with growth, production, and demand.
