Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update
Dear Montesano Students, Families, and Staff:
As you know, we are facing an unprecedented public health crisis in our state and world. We know that in addition to education, schools provide vital support to our communities and that closure will have a major impact on our families.
Based on a mandate from Governor Inslee and an abundance of caution, all Montesano schools will be closed from Monday, March 16th through Friday, April 24, 2020. All schools will be open on Monday, March 16th for students to collect their belongings. If there are any changes to this timeline, we will notify you as quickly as possible.
Before and After-school Activities Suspended
Before or after-school activities or events will be suspended during the school closure. All athletic and other extra-curricular practices are suspended as well.
Plans for Serving Meals
Lunch and breakfast will be available at designated sites. Additionally, we are discussing meal delivery options to our outlying areas. We will be communicating more information soon, including the site locations.
Plans for Childcare
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal has directed school districts to work with local partners regarding childcare. We will communicate new information regarding childcare in the coming days.
We want to express our sincere appreciation for the patience and understanding of our Bulldog community as we work through the daily challenges COVID-19 has presented to all of us.
Your health and the health of your family take priority right now. We will figure everything else out in the coming days and weeks.
Dan Winter
Superintendent
