The Class of 2025 Senior Walk and panoramic picture will take place on Tuesday, May 6. The Seniors will be visiting Simpson & Beacon elementary schools for the “Senior Walk” in their caps and gowns, then returning for the class picture in front of the school.
Seniors need to be dressed in their caps & gowns and ready to board the buses no later than 9:15AM.
The Class of 2025 Senior panoramic picture will be at 10:30AM.
As is Montesano High School tradition, we do not allow decorating the caps or gowns, with the exception of wearing significant tribal or cultural regalia. Please contact the HS Office with any questions.
The Junior/Senior Ball is around the corner! The dance will be held OFF CAMPUS at the Log Pavilion in Aberdeen. The dance will be from 8:30-11:00PM on Saturday, April 19.
This Wednesday, March 19, is our 8th Grade Parents Night! Please join the school counselors at 6:00PM in the MHS Commons. Information regarding course selection for freshmen year and graduation requirements will be discussed. After the counselor presentation students will be allowed to register for their 9th grade classes, if you have any questions, please contact the Counseling Center.
Due to a change in district procedures, we will not be accepting annual choice paperwork (renewals and new requests) until July 1st. All choice paperwork will be accepted on or after July 1, 2025 and can be submitted to the District Office in person or electronically. Families will be notified of choice status when the committee meets in late August.
This spring, students in grades 7, 8 and 10 will take the Smarter Balanced or the Washington Access to Instruction and Measurement (WA-AIM) tests in math and English language arts. Students in grades 8 and 11 will also take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) or the WA-AIM science assessment.
Girls’ Basketball will play this Saturday in the first round of the State Tournament. The game will be at 2:00PM at WF West High School vs. Bush. Tickets will only be available for purchase via GoFan.com. Passes are not accepted at State Tournament events.

This Saturday, February 22, the Montesano Bulldogs will be playing in the Girls’ District Basketball Championship game vs. Seton Catholic at Centralia High School. Game time is 5:00PM. Ticket prices are $8/adults and $6/students with ASB/senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased online at GoFan.com.

The HS Spring Fling Tolo Dance will be Saturday, March 1 from 8:00-10:00PM. This dance is for high school students only.
To bring a guest from another school, the MHS student and their date must complete a Dance Guest form. All guests must be interviewed by an administrator. If your guest previously attended a dance here at MHS, their interview may be waived, however the dance form, signed off by their school’s administration, must still be turned in for approval. Dance guest forms are now available in the HS Office and all guest forms must be approved no later than Friday, February 21. You will not be allowed to buy your dance ticket for the outside guest until you have completed this process.
Tickets for the Spring Fling will be sold for $10 in the Bookkeeping Office and will be sold until Friday, February 28 at 1:00PM. Tickets are also available online (service fees apply).
Reminder: Montesano School District uses Flash Alert as a means of communicating to the public in the event of school schedule changes/closures due to inclement weather or an emergency. You will need to register with Flash Alert to get their rapid notifications. In addition, the primary phone number listed on your student’s Skyward account will receive an automated message announcing any school schedule changes or emergency closures.

UPDATE: The Junior Parents’ Meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, February 24 at 6:00PM in the HS Library.
This meeting will provide information to help you and your student prepare for next year including graduation requirements, financial aid, scholarships, transcripts, college and other post-graduation application processes and more. Your student does not have to be college-bound to attend this meeting as it also applies to trades, apprenticeships, and other post-grad plans students may be considering. You student is welcome to attend with you.
