To create comprehensive, systems-linked evaluation models for both principals and teachers that include a 4-tiered rating system, meets the State's 8 criteria, uses student assessment and multiple measures where applicable, and function as tools to help improve teaching and learning.
Teacher-Principal Evaluation Pilot (TPEP)
The Montesano School District received a Regional Implementation Grant to help support a pilot a revised evaluation for teachers and principals.
A team of teachers, principals, administrators are working to develop, pilot and implement a revised teacher and principal evaluation aligned with new state criteria, research-based teaching and leadership practices, student and professional growth measures, using four tier rating system. The revised evaluation will support professional growth and promote student achievement. In compliance with legislation, all school districts in Washington State will be required to fully implement the new teacher-principal evaluation by 2015.
