About
Title I is a federally funded program designed to provide children in high poverty schools a quality education that will help them make progress toward state academic standards. Title I funding is based on the district free and reduced lunch rate. The Montesano School district uses Title I funds to provide targeted assistance in reading and math for students in grades K – 3. The Title I reading programs are often designated as the “Intensive and Strategic Groups” in our Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS program).
